范文 People’s dietary choices have beenincreasing faster than before due to the surging transportation and foodindustry. Some people favor the food from other regions rather than thedomestic, which resulting in the consumption of food from other regions grows,while and popularity of local food is falling. This phenomenon can provide people withmore choices in daily meals and boot the economy among different regions. Forexample, people in China are able to enjoy the cheese imported from New Zealandand wine from France without the trouble of traveling. And it can give theconvenience for people from freezing areas to try topical food. Also, thetrades between different places can be reinforced. As the frequency exchange offood, food merchandises are given more chances to make intersections withpeople from other places. In this case, the productivity and economy will besignificantly improved and citizens’ life standard will be liftedsimultaneously. However, both individuals and society can be affected in anegative way. Food products are supposed to be fresher, much better than thetransported ones from remote regions. Normally, adding preservatives is part ofthe processing in order to have a longer shelf life. But this act may pose a riskon people’s health, as the food can have some residue of harmful substances. Asfor the benefits of the society, if people consumed less local food, then somespecial local food representing cultures would diminish, which can bedetrimental for local food culture and diversity. In all, local food products and those from other places should begiven the same importance when people make their dietary choices as the latterones can enrich our lives, and the local food carries our food culture which wecannot afford to ignore.
